Unhappy Dead Motherboard?

Hello Chetneters,
I have a problem with one of my home PC's,
It is built on a PC Spe******t system, Asus P5N73-AM system board, Intel core2 duo E8400 processor, 4GB corsair XMS2 800mhz RAM, Windows Vista 64bit O.S 512mb GeForce 9600GT PCIexpress & is just over 2years old.

Was working fine on Saturday, went to turn it on on Sunday but it would not start up, all I get is a long, continuous beep coming from the system speaker.
I have tried to find out from the ASUS website what the beep codes are, but can't find anything to suggest what it means, I have tried removing the RAM, no difference, removed the VGA card, but again no difference, even contacted PC Spe******t, but they don't seem to know, or don't want to, as it is only 2yrs old I would have thought it should last longer than that.
I seem to think that the motherboard itself has gone, main reason for thinking this is I have tried another spare processor in the slot, but it's still the same.
Any recommendations would be gratefully received, especially in choosing a replacement board, as the ASUS brand seem to be a bit "cheap"
Thanks
Simon.

have you tried resetting the bios? there is a jumper that you can move to do this (just in case)....remove everything from the board apart from processor and fan and see if you get to post and get different error....if not then it may be a bios error (as you said you have tried a working processor). I am not sure if your bios is removable or not. If it is removable you may (for a very small amount of money) be able to get one off ebay or even asus themselves. I bought a bios chip for about a £1 + £1 delivery. Else it is buying a new mobo I am afraid.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all your suggestions, I have tried the following, in order,
1 removed the video card switched on no go, reseated card, no go
2 removed ram chips & turned on, no go & reseated one at a time & in alternating the chips.
3 disconnected all drives, IDE & SATA
4 cleared the cmos with the jumper
5 cleared the cmos with the jumper & battery removed, (as advised in mobo manual)
None of the above seem to have had an effect
Have since found out from PC manufacturer that the MOBO is still under warranty with ASUS, so I'll get it sent to them for testing / repair
Will keep posted
Simon.

Hi Guys,
Just a further update, the company who built the PC have replaced the motherboard free of charge, as they said it still had a warranty on it.
Well done to them,
Simon.
